Last weekend I took off for an easy breezy long weekend in Palm Beach! I was in need of a refreshing weekend, and a refreshing weekend it was! Each road perfectly lined with tall, oversized, manicured hedges hiding grand houses peaking out from behind them. Houses that almost seemed to be blushing at their own beauty, painted and primed in all different hues of pastel pink. Each one grander than the next as we passed by with our windows rolled down taking in the palm beach breeze. Each palm tree seemed to inch taller and taller, as if they were in friendly competition with one another as they stretched down the edges of the hot white sidewalks.
We started our day out by hopping onto our beach cruisers and biking the town, so we could see each polished crevice of the romantic beach town and meet it face to face, eye to eye, heart to heart. As you can probably tell by now, I completely fell in love with this island.
I wanted my outfit to match the vibe of the town, a town filled with palm trees and pops of colour, so a periwinkle dress printed with palms hung over my shoulders and blended with the prim and proper avenues of shops, almost camouflaging me in the best of ways.
I recently stumbled upon this pink bag on ring and have been sporting it around everywhere. The crossbody strap comes in handy when you need to be hands-free. You can shop this little lady below!
I also scored a pair of periwinkle Tory Burch ballet flats at an outlet store at the beginning of spring and couldn’t help but take them home with me when I saw the colour. It just so happened that they also matched my dress perfectly, so they walked the sandy pavement with me on this memorial day weekend trip. After pedaling around for most of the day and popping in and out of shops on our route, the sun lead us to the beach to cool off for the afternoon. We hopped over the sea-wall and followed a skinny little path down to where the waves crashed, and we crashed into them ourselves. We swiftly stripped down to our suits and threw ourselves into the turquoise waters, wading around to cool us down from the sun that owned the sky that day, not a cloud dared to come into its path.
Later that evening we went back into city from the island and found a poppin’ little place to wine and dine. We sat outside by the water and crunched into some perfectly golden conch fritters that had just the right amount of grease that one would prefer after a hot sunny day. I can’t leave out the drool-worthy island chili sauce that was drizzled on the rounded tops of the fritters. These were the best conch fritters I have had in a while, just adding one more reason for me to head back to this pleasant place called Palm Beach. You must visit E.R. Bradley’s if you are in the area and want to indulge in these conch fritters yourself. Post dinner we explored the area that was near-by and took note of the cheeky names of all of the sailboats resting in the quiet waters.
